I don't think you understand this discussion.

The OP opened a thread asking if the LEGO songs "should" sort into a seperate category. His poll presents the argument as though there is only "Yes they should" or "No they shouldn't".

The "Yes they should" answer is the one that falls in line with his own belief. While "no they shouldn't" suggests that the songs have no business sorting in their own category, but does not accurately reflect the common counter argument.

    There should be three options:
    1) "Yes they should."
    2) "No they shouldn't."
    3) "Does it matter?"

Furthermore, if you are suggesting that people who "don't care" have no business taking part in the discussion, then you have effectively proven that the poll validates nothing.

Not to mention that the poll options are essentially "Something" vs. "Nothing". And since the respondants to this poll have no stake either way...there is no disincentive to them for simply wanting more options.

Yeah, you're confused. We're not saying "No opinion". We have an opinion. That opinion is "The current method works fine, so why bother changing it."

That is the opinion not reflected in this poll. The only choices are "Yes you're idea is better" or "No your idea sucks".

But this is a specific poll. Maybe if you wanted features other than the ones the topic is about a new thread a poll would be worth it to you. It seems to me the poll is about something very specific. Either you would like this feature or you would not like this feature. If it truely doesn't matter then the option in the poll would be a moot point anyway because doesn't matter means you would be happy either way and a non vote would be just as effective. A non vote means hey I am happy either way.

You said non-voting should be taking as proof that someone doesn't care. Well, there are 9,000+ active members of this forum who haven't voted. So, by your stated logic, only 1% of even forum members want this. If you expand to ALL forum members or all game owners, it becomes even smaller of a percentage. Meaning by your standards, this poll proves nothing relevant except that most people do not care about having game sorting. That seems pretty worthless to me.

It's a specific poll about a specific issue. Do you really expect very many people at all to care about the issue at all? I wish it were the way I want. I voted that way. Most people if indifferent would vote the way I stated earlier and not vote and not even look at the thread. If you have such a better way to state it and care that much start your own poll. If I care about the issue I will vote the way I feel.

It would be nice to have the distinction like the RB1 tracks have.

I agree with both your statement and your signature line.

Anything that makes finding the songs you want to play easier or quicker would be a good addition to the game.

You're ignoring the way the survey is being interpreted which was the whole issue of the post you disagreed with. Someone claimed that the survey results prove that most people want this in the game, but that's not a remotely fair conclusion. The survey doesn't say that at all because participation is incredibly small. By your own stated standards, "I Don't Care" is winning this survey by an insurmountable margin. So why you trying to also back up the notion that the survey proves that people overwhelming want this? People overwhelmingly don't care. The poll can't be used to prove something.

So what about making a better poll.

I also would like to state I have actually done the export and the DL and played some of the songs. I have a feeling some people can not say the same.

Except those aren't the options provided by this poll. A far better way would've been asking if the seperate sorting was "neccesary".

That way you have those who believe it is a neccesity to sort under LEGO, and those who wouldn't feel it's required. That way you encompass both those that prefer the current method, and those that don't care at all.

While the poll itself is proof of nothing, that doesn't invalidate the rest of the discussion surrounding the topic. Nothing will be accomplished by opening a seperate topic to discuss the same thing (not that there aren't already a few dozen threads about the way these songs are sorted already).

So wait. Now you're implying that those who don't feel it's neccesary are only saying so because they haven't done the export themselves?
