This thread and your avatar have convinced me to look into Big Star. I just listened to Thirteen. I like it! What songs other songs of theirs should I listen to?

If you have even the slightest knowledge in TV pop culture, you've heard "In The Street" because a cover of that song was used for the opening of "That 70's Show". Also The Ballad of El Goodo is a fantastic song.

They Might Be Giants - Flood
I'm deeply embarrassed that I forgot this.

    Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
I'm surprised at the number of people on this forum who haven't heard this!

    Pixies - Doolittle
It was only a matter of time before another obvious album got in!

I thought this was pretty popular... great album either way.

4 out of 10, damn I'm behind. But the ones I've listened to are either a 9 or a 10. You got good taste, brotha.
Album wish list: Black Sabbath, Queen II, Static Age, Ride the Lightning, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

JBH and Gowie both need to hop on the bandwagon.

I just got this album at a used CD store. Very nice so far.

I can't get the riff from Blister In the Sun out of my head now, and I've only listened to it once. You know it's a good song if it does that.

Nothing I've never seen before, but I like the majority of the albums on here, with the exception of Misfits and Sufjan Stevens. I imagine I'd include a few of these on my own top album list.

Though I do have to say, I'm disappointed with your choice of Talking Heads albums. I mean, Remain in Light is pretty much a given since it's a brilliant album, everyone has it on their lists. But I never got the fuss over Fear of Music. The first side is brilliant, certainly up to par with Talking Heads' standards. The second side... not so much. It just seems like they put everything they had into the side one and rushed side two because they needed an album (and this is coming from one of their biggest fans). I'd put any of their other albums from 1977-1985 in front of it, and I'd certainly even put parts of True Stories and Naked in front of certain songs on that album.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.
