Hey all! I'll be doing a live online streaming workshop on how to handle the audio engineering for the Rock Band Network using Reaper tonight! I'll be going through my process start to finish with explanations on why things are done a certain way, and best practices that I've learned over the last several months during closed beta.

A little background on me though, for those of you who are unfamiliar with my antics.

First off, I'm the Director of Development for Rhythm Authors, which includes handling all of our clients information. I oversee the development of our projects alongside my cohort, elx, for every song that we do. I also handle all of the audio engineering for our songs, which currently is sitting well over 100 on hand.

As far as my Rock Band credentials go, I currently hold a two-time world record for the longest continuous Rock Band Drumming, currently sitting at 56 hours and 32 minutes. Previously held 1st overall on XBox 360 in early RB2, just prior to the recent Drum Hell 2 WR setting event.

There's a lot more to it, but it's all publicly found on the wonders of Google. Just search my actual name and you'll be good to go.

Anyways! On to the real good stuff. Some of the things I plan on talking about are as follows:
    • installation of new VST plugins
    • creating your own custom templates and FX settings
    • staying organized within your DAW
    • creating the playable parts
    • limiters, and knowing your limits (bad pun, I know)
    • FX automation
    • overall mix
    • preparing a solid authoring template

Time of event: 7pm EST, December 15th 2009
    Location: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rhythmauthorstv

I'll be answering questions in the chat when I see them, though I wont be able to answer everything.
