    3 DLC Albums...3 Unique Experiences

Just got through playing Rubber Soul for a couple of hours, and I can't stop smiling: What a boatload of great songs just got added to the playlist! The game's depth and variety has skyrocketed with this release: It's got more meat on its bones now.

It got me thinking about the three DLC albums, and how each one has provided a different experience:

Abbey Road--Edgy, Beautiful, Quirky and Epic.

Sgt. Pepper--Colorful, fun, surprising and startling.

Rubber Soul--Sharp, tightly written and clever. The Beatles in transition. The back-and-forth between live performance and dreamscape provides the "Missing Link" chapter that ties together the early and later periods in the game. It's not as flashy or epic as the first two DLC albums, but it provides one great song after another...and yes, I'm including "What Goes On."

I'm glad to have more live venue songs to play, and I also love each of the new Dreamscapes. "Michelle" is my favorite, but it's a really close call between all of them. I wish I had a choice to play "Nowhere Man" on stage, but the dreamscape turned out great (and the song was just as much fun to play in-game as I'd hoped).

The one really odd moment comes at the end, just as it does on the album. "Run For Your Life" is one weird, twisted little song. It's very unnerving to see John joyfully singing it to a screaming crowd of adoring women. Oh, well, what ya gonna do...No way it could be left out of the album.

I sure hope there are more album downloads coming, but at least now the game's setlist has grown into a very healthy collection. As is, this is the best game I've ever played, and it's really blossomed over the last three months.

Yeah its so fun, and alway unique to play theese albums. As you said, all 3 albums are very good in their own way.

All 3 times, i've been playing the full album for the first time with my friends, and all 3 times we are blown away, and said only good stuff about it.

It might cost 1400 MSP, but its much better than all the songs i've bought on RB1 and RB2.

John Lennon: Ringo isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles.

    Leave What Goes On Alone!!!

Nah, but I really do enjoy that song. Great guitar work.

Yeah, and I'm the type who prefers to enjoy how things are rather than how they could be (although I can't really help thinking of how it could be), but the game definitely feels more complete with these downloads.

    I also love the variety.

Rubber Soul has been a vocal challenge, Abbey Road was a treat for me on Bass and Guitar, and Sgt. Pepper was inventive in its charting and its myriad of tracks.

I love Abbey Road so it takes my first prize, but I could not imagine the game without all three of them!

I'm kind of leaning toward the White Album next, a blend of hard rock and acoustic delights. Help! is definitely wanted as well, but the Rubber Soul harmonies will keep me busy for awhile.

A guitar/ bass heavy White Album (Disc 1, 2 or both) then a Magical Mystery Tour/Revolver psychedelic type album followed by the harmonies of Help! would make for another great 3-4 month stretch.
