How much is a decent Strat? I've been looking to upgrade from my fairly beginner status Yamaha for some time now, but being a middle school student, I don't have that much income coming in. My dad said he'd pay for 1/2, but still... What's the price?

Fender Standard Series, $500.

Yeah, not really looking for a Squire. One of those would probably be on par with my Yamaha. Looking for something in the vein of a Strat, Tele, maybe a Les Paul or an SG... but $1000 sounds pricey... anything good in the $500-800 range?
