How dreadfully depressing that must be. I'd rather be optimistic in this case, you know, not assuming someone's a jerk until they prove (repeatedly) they are.
Edit: Given the subject matter, I can understand completely how Optimism is not the default response, but angrily defending the deceased from (possibly) imagined insults seems to me a pointless tangent to pursue when you can instead be celebrating the life of the fallen.
I wonder how their new album is going to work out. Were they done recording it? Or were they in the process of recording it?

There wasn't much published about how far they were into the recording process, just that it had began. My guess is that it was not complete but I hope they release the songs that were & continue on.
Then again I wasn't his best friend so that's up to them, we can only hope.

I bought "Critical Acclaim" today before I heard that he died. I am really bummed out. I saw Avenged Sevenfold when they were touring with Ozzfest in 2007. I didn't know any of their songs, but they got a good reception. Rock Band definitely showcased "Bat Country" and "Almost Easy." The Rev was an incredible drummer.
By the way, I sang "Bat Country" in his honor tonight at a local karaoke bar.

Here's another post I made in another thread about him.
I listened to City of Evil today. And when "Seize The Day" was playing, and Syn was doing the solo. It immediately made me think of the video of him playing on the grave. It made me think that, that would be so awesome if Syn actually did that in real life at Rev's funeral.
