Can I download RB music into TB-RB?

I am new into this world, I only have the Beatles RB but I'd like to get other music into my Wii (like Kiss, Green Day, Rush etc.) Can this be done? or do I need to buy the RB2 game also to enjoy other bands' music?

I never understood why so many people were (and apparently still are) even half-expecting to play other Rock Band DLC in the Beatles game. It's bad enough that the other way around was such a dealbreaker, but who buys a Beatles game to play Foo Fighters songs?
