    Alt-Nation's Top 18 Most Requested Songs of 2009

    Alt-Nation is a Sirius/XM alternative rock station on satellite radio. Recently they tallied the total requests from 2009 and played the top 18. Here they are, if you wish to discuss anything:

    18. Cage the Elephant - Ain't No Rest for the Wicked
    17. Matt & Kim - Daylight
    16. The Killers - Spaceman
    15. Spinnerette - Baptized by Fire
    14. Franz Ferdinand- No You Girls
    13. The Thermals - Now We Can See
    12. Wildlight - California on my Mind
    11. Death Cab for Cutie- Grapevine Fires
    10. Metric - Help I'm Alive
    9. Manchester Orchestra - I've Got Friends
    8. Yeah Yeah Yeah's - Heads Will Roll
    7. Limousines - Very Busy People
    6. Kings of Leon - Use Somebody
    5. MGMT - Kids
    4. Weezer - (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To
    3. Phoenix - 1901
    2. Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch

    There are a couple big surprises for me on this list. Namely, there have been more requests for Heads Will Roll than Zero. The top three aren't surprising, but I wasn't aware how popular the Weezer single is. Also, Mute Math's Electrify was released too late, so they're gonna get the same treatment as Spaceman, in that their requests are gonna get split up in between years

    Most surprising songs missing to me is New Moon Rising by Wolfmother and Notion by Kings of Leon. Please share if you've got any thoughts on whatever

    It makes me warm and fuzzy inside to see 1901 in third. That song is awesome. Also, SSPU, YYYs and MGMT are good as well.

    Well out of all these songs, I've only heard 2 of these songs on the radio. And those two are, are #1 and #2.
