~love The Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, The Mission UK, and The Cure~

I'd also throw in Type O Negative if you're including Gothic Metal.
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

    Awesome! =D
Type O is amazing, but yeah, just avoiding gothic metal for now, but they're definitely one of the few gothic metal bands that includes obvious classic goth rock elements. Most bands in the gothic metal realm seem to have more to do with symphonic metal, power metal, death metal, and other metal genres.
Though oppositely, I am putting goth rock bands with metal pastiches (like Fields) in there, hehe (as opposed to metal bands with goth pastiches, like Type O) =3

Definitely a goth-rock fan, although particularly partial to The Cult, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Killing Joke, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Sisters of Mercy. Also somewhat into synthpop, psychobilly, trip hop, and dark caberet, although not as knowledgeable in those areas as I should be.
