Nice, I actually haven't heard of Blessure Grave, I'll have fun checking 'em out!
I adore Zola Jesus though, I totally agree!

My favorites are Depeche Mode, Cold Cave, Specimen (horrifically inconsistent band but they made some awesome songs), Fields of The Nephilim, Sisters of Mercy, Southern Death Cult, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, The Cure, and of course Siouxsie & The Banshees.

Looking to get into Alien Sex Fiend and Christian Death. Which album would you guys recommend for both bands? I think I might need to listen to The Birthday Party tonight in remembrance of Rowland, as well.

since you're already familiar with xiu xiu and zola jesus you may already know, but the former ghosts album that came out last year was excellent...

more on the post-punk side of things, but hey... members of xiu xiu, this song is a mess but so am i, and zola jesus together is unstoppable.

Ah yeah, I'm just getting into Cold Cave myself.

With ASF, that's a tough one, I don't think I've heard anyone agree on an album, haha, and I don't have everything of theirs. I personally got no particular favorite I put over another, but Acid Bath is pretty awesome. Curse is good too.

Christian Death, Only Theatre of Pain is the crucial, definitive album. Catastrophe Ballet and Ashes are definitely worth listening too though after that.

Ahh, I actually didn't know Zola Jesus collaborated in this project. I only heard that Xiu Xiu and This Song is a Mess were onto something together, but didn't follow up on what it was called. I'll have to check it out for sure, exciting!! Thanks for the tidbit! =D

Scarlet's Remains just came up on the radio when I clicked on this thread...

Favourite goth bands: Christian Death(Rozz, obv.), Ausgang, Alien Sex Fiend, Bloody Dead and Sexy, Cinema Strange, Sex Gang Children and Virgin Prunes.

though the dark post-punk mentioned in the beginning is more what I'm into. The Prids and Alcian Blue are awesome.

Awesome! Good list 8) Bloody Dead & Sexy are a good one too
I love The Prids! They play often here in NoCal but I've yet to catch them live yet, d'oh. I've heard of Alcian Blue but haven't listened to their music yet, I will do that later!

Hehe, wow, just listened to some Blessure Grave now, you weren't kidding about lo-fi, haha. It sounds like they recorded it live or something, even; that kind of caught me by surprise. The guy has an amazing voice, he sounds so Ian, haha
