I always lump switchblade symphony with sunshine blind, but that might be because I've seen them on the same bill several times.
Does anyone chart anymore? le sigh.

Haha, nice! I like Sunshine Blind a lot, they got a more straight up rock n'roll approach, at least from the one album I've heard, I Carry You

That's about right. They were very much like the Sisters of Mercy with a real sister singing. I didn't get "I Carry You", but Liquid and Love the Sky were amazing. I stopped listening to them after JT died. He was a ****ing awesome person. He actually took James' place in the Wake for a while lol.

AH! found a band I hadn't heard of before. Moonchild, a german goth band. I probably overlooked them based on their name (i.e. how cheese can you be than to name your band after the worst Crowley had to offer, and NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THERE AREN"T A MILLION OTHER ****TY BANDS WITH THAT NAME!? ), but they're actually not bad. They have a Great Guitar tone, very Red Lorry or Ikon goth rock sound. Drum machine, of course, chorused bass, and a siouxsie sounding singer. Lyrics appear to be in German and English (or very thickly accented), and the production isn't great. Catchy music though. I got "How Now Spirit, Whither Wander You?", which is a pretty appropriately gothy name, huh?

Anyway, we need more chicks in goth rock bands.

I haven't heard of them before, I will definitely have to check them out, they sound really awesome from what I gather!
And lol, it's true, there needs to be more chicks 8) Although the genre has it better than a few other more male dominated ones haha xD

Larry Cassidy of the post-punk band Section 25 died a few days ago. If you never heard of 'em before, members of Joy Division (including Ian) contributed to producing some of their stuff, they were a Factory Label band too.

So I'm currently obsessing over Cold Cave

(warning about the video: don't watch if you're epileptic)

I think they're opening for Editors now. It's surprising to see a band with a stronger French coldwave pastiche get this popular, but I think it's really awesome, and about time someone in the post-punk revival scene really did so. These guys are great.

Yeah, the forum loves Cold Cave as far as I know. I especially dig 'em.

Much of Gothic taste also lies in techno, with derivatives like aggrotech or EBM. Bands like Psyclon Nine or Angelspit have a pretty big fanbase in the goth crowd.
