He was pretty modest about it, although he was still unhappy about the reviews they got they last time they played C-bus (which was apparently quite a while ago). To be fair, the main music critic for our indie paper *is* kind of a d-bag.
Is it still Eric from the new bomb turks, or that John guy? They are douchebags. The goth scene in cowtown was very much ostracized by the rest of the music community, it rarely got any press, and most of it was negative. Cleveland was much friendlier, which is the last place I saw the wake (unless you count me running into Dan and Troy at an art gallery once, and James at a few parties). To be fair, the rest of the goth scene wasn't very friendly to the wake, either, they came off as aloof and pretentious because they wouldn't play in town or even support those of us who did. Then again, we were horribly organized. Outland was the only success story from the columbus goth scene.
Does anyone chart anymore? le sigh.

If that impresses you, I won't mention that I've seen Tina from Switchblade symphony in her underwear.

On the subject of Switchblade Symphony, anybody have suggestions for bands similar to them and other similar bands like Collide?
"I try to be not like that, but some people really suck
People need to get the axing, chalk it up to bad luck." 311, Beautiful Disaster

Hmm... that female fronted electronic darkwave sound? Well, try out some Claire Voyant, Android Lust, The Frozen Autumn (some songs), Rhea's Obsession, Trance to the Sun, and Attrition.

Also check out The Vyllies, they remind me heavily of Switchblade Symphony with more of a post-punk drive, with this... Miranda Sex Garden-ish dark Renaissance mysticism.

And not entirely goth, but Curve is quite friendly to what you may be looking for.
