A little not-so-hidden gem I found involving "The Long And Winding Road"

Yes, the long battle between Spector and McCartney. Which version is better, blah blah blah. I was never really sastified with either the Spector OR McCartney version. So one day I was listening to the Anthology 3, Disc 2 (LIB-Abbey Road) which imo is the best Anthology disc you can listen to as an album. And I heard The Long And Winding Road, which at first thought it would be the same thing from LIB naked, but I was wrong. Its a different take with a bit more drumming, and a nice acoustic guitar replacing the (imo) unfitting electric guitar on the ..naked version.

I can't seem to find a version of it on youtube, and be warned, its NOT the video of them doing it from LIB, that is the commercial version. If anyone can find it for me, that would be great. If you have Anthology, give it a listen and tell me what you think.

Just opened iTunes and had a listen. Great version. I really like the little rolls on the bell of the ride cymbal that Ringo does.

I love the Naked version SO much more than Spector's original. Naked is a much better album.
Give me more songs by David Bowie, Oasis and The Smiths and I will be a very happy man indeed.

It's the best version. The Anthology also has the best version of Rocky Raccoon and Tomorrow Never Knows.

Woah, no way on Rocky Raccoon. Album is better. However, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is quite a few miles better on Anthology than the album version. It sounds more like a Beatles song and less like a Beatles jam session that was accidentally recorded. Good stuff; also on the 3rd one.

Rocky Raccon on A3 is not too much different than the released version, just slightly different music and Paul goofing around. I don't agree about TNK, though I do about Ob-La-Di.

The best Anthology song is Something. It's one of the best Beatles recordings too IMO.

I must be the only person in the world left that likes Spector's version the best. That's the song that REALLY made me fall in love with the band.
