I'm wondering why they omitted Johnny Marr of the smiths from their list. He should easily be considered a great guitarist. He's such an inventive, unique force who, I believe, has yet to be matched. Oh, well.

I remember when this list came out a couple years ago. I thought it was worthless then and it remains worthless now. Randy Rhoads at 80whatever and Eddie Van Halen at 70 while Jack White even sniffs the top 50? No Zakk Wylde? I like Slash and all, and even though I feel he's generally overrated, him being left off the list is inconceivable.

The list is just one reason I refuse to pay for their rubbish. Their overt liberalism is the main reason. Seriously, stay out of politics and go back to music. Even then you'll still be a second rate music rag.

Whats stupid about this list is that the "Greatest guitarist" can mean a lot of things. Greatest shredder, chord player, lead guitarist, rythm, innovative, songwriter, well-known, etc. IMO, Brian May should be wayyy higher up, he had the most incredible tone and built his guitar, so should randy rhoads, tony iommi, blackmore, Fripp, heck where the hell is Hackett, and Howe, two of the most innovative guitarists of all time, not just in prog, but in rock in general
