Rock Power Challenge Mode

The biggest surprise about Lego Rock Band was the Rock Power Challenges. I play the drums, and it felt so much more authentic and fun without overdrive enabled. After realizing this pleasant surprise, I went to check the game modifiers/cheats to see if I could somehow play any song in this mode. Unfortunately it isn't an option.

I would love to see it as a game modifier or as a separate game mode in future rock band releases. I've just about gotten sick of doing crappy drum fills 20 times throughout a song, and I prefer not to worry about overdrive.

Does anyone agree with me, or am I just crazy?

I love drum fills.

I wish there was Rock Power Challenges in normal RB more for the scenery. If a Lego me can do it, then why can't a normal RB me dream of it with his bandmates?

Yeah I hope that the Rock Power Challenges come over to RB3. I REALLY liked them in LRB.

they're awesome if you play solo, but when you play with two or more band members, some of your parts are left out and you sort of take turns, like GHIII's weird face off mode... so it then sucks and i hated doing them with my friend cause we always play it together...

With part 3 I hope they get rid of them completely and go with the Beatles way of hitting OD.

You've sort of got that option already --- just don't *use* ovedrive, and just let your meter overflow with flashy goodness.

But yeah, I agree that it would be a nice option to turn on to make songs more challenging and/or "cleaner" and/or more "authentic."

If I didn't use the overdrive, I would have more drum fills, which is the part I dislike about it. For other instruments, it's not really a problem, and I rarely play them anyway (guitar got boring a while ago). I guess the reason I enjoy playing the drums so much is because of how realistic it feels, and the drum fills take away from the immersion.
