Why is it that I'm very partial to Sarah-twee but I absolutely can not stand Beat Happening for a moment?

I mean, they've got a great name and great cover art for a twee band, but I can not stand them at all.

aw man, that's unfortunate. Although to be honest, they really don't sound like any other twee band, so it's kind of odd how they are considered one...

I figured it out. It's his voice. That's why I don't like Beat Happening. I figured it out when I heard "C is the Heavenly Option" again. Oh well.

Also, I downloaded a ton of Sarah singles and EPs from the kinds of bands that only manage two or so releases before they're canned. Here's my analysis:

    Inessential
    Action Painting!
    Eternal
    The Forever People

    Terrible
    Ivy
    The Golden Dawn

Could Have Been Something with a Better Singer
    Gentle Despite
    The Rosaries

    Absolutely Essential
    Byron [EP] - Aberdeen

I'm not joking when I say that this is on par with stuff like the Sensitive single or the So Said Kay EP by The Field Mice.

one of my friends gave me a bunch of Sarah Records singles a while ago, i just haven't really gotten to them yet. I haven't been in that big of a twee mood since last October/November when i was all over it. I still listen to it form time to time but not as much as then.

My recent-times listenings are Camera Obscura, The Cure, and The Stooges. I also listen to White Light/White Heat every morning right when I wake up. How's that for an interesting mix?

    ****ing ace.

I can't tell you how much I love Camera Obscura, so much that it's ridiculous. I saw them live a month ago and they had a full string accompaniment with them, it was such an awesome show. also The Cure are amazing too!
