I'm trying to figure out if this problem is my PS3, the game, or just some major, epic lag due to a crappy internet connection.

I play online sometimes. Then, my character will freeze. Everyone else will keep moving. The game continues. People can shoot my character and kill my character. Occasionally, when he dies it unfreezes. Well, it always unfreezes but occasionally he takes a few steps again, only to freeze.

When this happens, the HUD goes away.

However, I can hit the PS button. I can hit Select. I can hit Start. These work. I can back out of the game (at money and experience penalties).

I've played online before (The Beatles: Rock Band and Borderlands). Borderlands has only lagged on me twice. One was obvious, rubber-band lag, and the other was a weird delayed reaction lag.

My friend (since I'm currently living with him and his mom) told me his internet is pretty much on the crappiest plan they can get. He plays WoW and stuff on his computer just fine, but he's also wired (my computer and PS3 is wireless.)

I usually leave my laptop on while I play PS3, in case I have to pull up guides or something, but aside from the fact that it's connected to the internet, nothing is downloading or uploading.

Mainly, I'm just seeing if anyone else who plays UC2 has this problem, if it's lag, or something else entirely.

Note: UC2 people. I know the game freezes for people. I know the game crashes. But from the freezes and crashes I know of, it's a complete game freeze (ie.EVERYTHING stops moving).

That's never happened to me and I've played quite a bit.

apparently it's happened to other people (this was from the beta, but the last few pages are people realizing that it happens in the full game as well).

so at least you're not alone.

I've had similar issues. It's like, to everyone except me, my body is standing in one spot soon as the game starts. But at the same time, I'm walking around and able to shoot people (and apparently kill them, as well). So I'll be walking around killing people in my ghost form, until someone comes up to my spawn point and shoots me, at which point I seem to be hit with invisible bullets and die.

The problem is, current living conditions dictate this is the internet connection I have to have. It's not my internet connection. I'm staying with my friend and his mom, and it's the connection they're paying for. My friend is able to play WoW and Counter-Strike and all that stuff from his computer, but he's also wired.

My PS3 can handle The Beatles: Rock Band online.

The Uncharted lag thing is a pain because I reached level 7 last night (somehow). Getting booted from the game today gave me a 40k penalty, which dropped me down back to level 1. It's also giving me a sucky K/D ratio because "Hey that guy's frozen. Free kills yay."

If it's lag, how do I minimize it, or is UC2 multiplayer pretty much going to be unplayable until I get a better connection?
