A Few Rock Band Things I'm Confused About

Recently, I've been playing a lot of The Beatles: Rock Band and a few things have bothered me. 1.) Why are there name difficulty ratings (i.e. Solid, Tricky, etc.) and out-of-6 "Band" difficulty ratings? What do these mean and how do they relate to each other? 2.) Is there a place to find how many points one needs to get Expert Gold Stars for each instrument/song combination? Any responses would be a great help.

    1. The name makes it easier for sorting in song selection, I guess. The number is more easily displayed during instrument selection with the bar graph.

So there is no rhyme or reason to having two different band difficulty ratings?
    Thanks for the link.

They're not different necessarily, as a number corresponds to a name, thusly:

    0 - Beginner
    1 - Apprentice
    2 - Moderate
    3 - Solid
    4 - Tricky
    5 - Challenging
    6 - Demanding

As to why they would have both names and numbers...well, it's more or less been like that since the dawn of time (i.e. Guitar Hero 1).

What about Challenging? It is band 6/6 in at least one case. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew9ErGFn32M

OK, now I think I know where your confusion lies.

When you're playing solo and sorting by difficulty, it sorts by that instrument's difficulty, not the band difficulty (except I don't think you can sort by bass difficulty...can't remember). When you get two or more people (2 people harmonizing by themselves doesn't count), then sorting by difficulty will sort by band difficulty.

"Back in the USSR", as shown in your video, is a 5/Challenging on guitar, so when he sorted by difficulty, it showed up under "Challenging", not "Demanding" for the band (and every other part) difficulty.
