    Classical Requests

    Hey all,

I love the song Piggies. Really do. There are few things for me that beat a good harpsichord.

I also really like In My Life, particularly because of the piano solo in the middle.

Doing some quick research, putting two things together, both of these are classified as "Baroque Style."

Not having much knowledge of classical music, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of composers or songs in this Baroque style they would recommend I listen to.

    Thanks!

How about some good ol' Mozart?

Though, technically, he's not from Baroque period.. but he still wrote some damn good pieces of music.

I personally prefer that cello piece to be played a lot slower. This tempo feels too rushed for my taste. D:

And the Moonlight Sonata is by Beethoven, by the way.
..And Beethoven isn't Baroque, either. >_>

Try some Georg Philipp Telemann. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bo1FxTlHxuc
Or some more Bach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVJD3dL4diY I bet you know this one.

Thanks for the replies so far.

Hannie - Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is classic. It reminds me of another song that has a Baroque style portion, Dancing Mad*. That first 1:50 in that vid is just pure bliss for me. Absolutely incredible sound - beautiful and haunting.

    * I know, I know - Dancing Mad should remind me of Bach, not the other way around

    Keep the suggestions coming! Thanks!

Bach copied from the Black Mages.

Wait, are you looking for Classical Rock or just Classical? If you're looking for Classical Rock, look up Jethro Tull's Bouree, and ELO and ELP. If you're looking for Classical, Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart are the way to go.
