"Glee" to Perform Beatles

if its been covered so many times then it doesnt matter if another group kills it

better that than a song that hasnt been killed yet.

Pretty much all of their songs except for mabye the Anthology tracks and unrealeased material have been covered at least 10 times.

I'm actually looking forward to it.

After the Jonas Brothers attempted to cover it, it can't possibly get any worse than that. And I think Glee does a pretty good job on their covers.

When I heard they were covering Don't Stand So Close To Me by the Police I was ready to rage but now I almost end up liking it just as much as the original.

If their cover of Hello Goodbye sucks, I'll be the one of the first to admit it. But I'm going to give them a chance; from the small sample we can hear in the commercial for the new season it doesn't sound bad at all though.

do you seriously expect a decent cover out of a Fox television show?

Fox has done some pretty good shows, and like someone said before, Glee has a talented singing cast.

Now, could you be less pessimistic? If you know it's going to suck, then don't watch, instead of trolling the forums.

What do I think? I think it is going to be another awful cover. I don't watch the show (watching the YouTube video of "Don't Stop Believing" that everybody kept raving about was enough to scare me away permanently), so I won't have to suffer through it too much. I have had the misfortune of getting stuck listening to the soundtrack a few times, and I don't wish that pain on anybody.

I've heard people defend the show's music with "But they're so talented and good singers!" They may sing well, but good singers have done botched versions of songs since back in the caveman days. No reason they can't continue a long-standing history. As long as I don't have to be subjected to it, I'll be fine.

How long before somebody asks if we'll get the Glee covers as DLC in TBRB? It has been asked several times already of the wretched "Across The Universe."

This doesn't have to do with Glee but it does have to do with Beatles covers on TV. I just saw a commercial for The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and they played a cover of Get Back. Considering how much I hate Jay Leno (and love Conan ), it made me pretty mad.
