Milligram - This Is Class War
Genre: Stoner Rock/Post-Hardcore
Year: 2003
Crushing fusion of "in the red" stoner rock and the early stages of post-hardcore that gave birth to bands like Big Black and Scratch Acid as well as bands like Husker Du and Rites Of Spring.
This never becomes a particularly abrasive listen though, and on several songs quite closely resemble the sound that Torche has since made famous.
Recommended If You Like: Torche, Melvins, Boris, The Jesus Lizard, Big Business, and 16.

The Essence - Nothing Lasts Forever
Genre: Post-Punk/Darkwave
Year: 1991
These guys basically sound like The Cure at their absolute most dramatic and poppy.
Look elsewhere for originality, but this is a really great set of songs that easily beats anything their heroes have released since "Disintegration".
Recommended If You Like: Robert Smith with less cooing.

It's good though.It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.
