I really like the Absolute Body Control album. The do a great Baby's on Fire cover. Less raw, but more bleak.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

Awesome album (had heard about it a while back when the vocalist from Museo Rosenbach started a new band recently that took its title from one of the songs on this album - Il Tempio delle Clessidre).

Paintbox - Trip, Trance & Travelling
    Genre: Psychedelic Rock/Hardcore Punk
    Year: 2009

I got turned on to this record almost directly after posting my 2009 list (it would have made my top 10).
Imagine a mix of high energy melodic hardcore, psych-rock, prog jazz fusion, and just a drop or two of sugary j-pop.
