Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised with Barkmarket, the nirvana/melvins comparisons was sorta true too, I could hear it thats for sure

The Damage was one of the most fun albums I've heard in a while. Excellent content.

    Tetsu Saitoh - Stone Out
    Genre: Free Improvisation/Fusion
    Year: 1995

Strange, emotional, and melodic fusion of traditional japanese music, contemporary classical, jazz, and tango.
I reckon this is the most obscure thing listed in this thread at a whopping 25 listeners on last.fm...
Give this guy a chance, despite the lack of samples.

Recommended If You Like: Astor Piazolla scoring a romantic Japanese film.

A live improvised performance that pales in comparison to the recording.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Raw Breed - Killa Instinct
    Genre: Hardcore Hip-Hop
    Year: 1996

The best hardcore hip-hop album ever recorded... This stuff is so dark and in your face that I have no idea how they kept the songs so clean, memorable, and strong in movement.
I've never had much info on this album, aside from Warner backing out of releasing it in '96, but just now read that this is being reissued (having been leaked to the internet over a year ago) this year.

Recommended If You Like: Ice-T, Onyx, Gang Starr, Organized Konfusion, Das Efx, and Cella Dwellas.

    Lock Sh*t Down
    Carlito's Way
    Ghetto Life

    O.L.D. - Lo Flux Tube
    Genre: Avant-Garde/Industrial Metal
    Year: 1991

James Plotkin, Alan Dubin, Jason Everman, and John Zorn make the transition here from grindcore to really pissed off robot or something.

Recommended If You Like: Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Godflesh, The Locust, An Albatross, Today Is The Day, and Zeni Geva.

    Outlive
    Vein Water
    Z.U.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The Drams - Jubilee Dive
    Genre: Roots Rock/Alt-Country
    Year: 2006

This is an incredibly solid debut from an ex-Slobberbone dude that mixes the cream of the crop in modern roots rock, alt-country, and 80's jangle pop.
It comes out sounding kinda like the first Wilco album if they had been on a serious REM kick during the songwriting process.

Recommended If You Like: Wilco, Band Of Horses, Uncle Tupelo, Drive-By Truckers, Old 97's, and Crooked Fingers.

    Sample via myspace.
