Scatter just wasn't made for these times... Maybe people will catch on by 2020.

Scatter was pretty good. Not accessible, though, I agree

Animus - Poems For The Aching, Swords For The Infuriated
Genre: Black Metal
Year: 2005
Animus is a guy from Israel who plays highly minimalist and negative black metal with seriously buzz-y guitars that should appeal to shoegaze and noise fans who are open to the uglier side of black metal alongside the more accessible.
Recommended If You Like: Burzum, Xasthur, Velvet Cacoon, Paysage d'Hiver, Coldworld, and I Shalt Become.
Sample (Or buy digitally for $5) via klicktrack.

Nick Castro & The Poison Tree - Further From Grace
Genre: Baroque Folk/Psychedelic Folk
Year: 2005
When folks like Devendra and Joanna were getting more and more popular I'll never understand how Nick didn't follow close behind. I guess not having a goofy voice hurt him this time around.
Oh, and Josephine Foster has a guest spot on this great album (Even greater than any of hers, in my book) and some members of Espers serve as Nick's band.
Recommended If You Like: Nick Drake, Syd Barrett, Bert Jansch, Espers, Six Organs Of Admittance, and In Gowan Ring.
Sample via cduniverse.

Hey Paulette - Long Ball Into Nowhere
Genre: Jangle Pop/Indie Pop
Year: 2006 (Recorded 1988-1991)
This Dublin band didn't stick around long, but 15 years after their demise they saw their first non-EP release in this collection of their singles, John Peel session, and demo/live material.
Recommended If You Like: The Smiths, Shop Assistants, The Pastels, BMX Bandits, Talulah Gosh, and Close Lobsters.
Sample via tradebit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wonderland Falling Yesterday - Enchanted Landscape Escape
Genre: Electronic Ambient
Year: 2002
A pre-World's End Girlfriend project, this is not too unlike many modern chamber post-rock groups' forays into electronic ambient and glitch, except without the need to pander to Mono fans with guitars or drums.
Recommended If You Like: World's End Girlfriend, Stars Of The Lid, Ulrich Schnauss, Max Richter, Helios, and Worrytrain.
Sample via facebook.
Nick Castro link fixed.
EDIT: Blog fully updated.

I don't know if he's still playing, but I saw him live on tour for that album and he was great... I thought he showed the headliners (In Gowan Ring) up.
