    This is one of the most melodramatic country albums I've ever heard, bordering on chamber folk at times with it's lush instrumentation and huge production.
    Praised and even covered by folks as varied as Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Bonnie Prince Billy, BB King, and Elvis Presley, Mickey's probably the most influential and important country musician that never got his due.

    Recommended If You Like: Kris Kristofferson, Gene Clark, Scott Walker, Townes Van Zandt, Neil Diamond, and Guy Clark.

    random: best song from Afrodisiac has to be "Heather". jesus, what a song...starts out heavy with a driving, aggressive drum/bass beat, then towards the end of the song integrates that smooth jazz-esque sound, which was perfect.
