I completely agree. Don't get me wrong, the main actors (Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Jesse Spenser, and especially Hugh Laurie) are the reason I keep coming back to the show (and will continue to!), and the writers do have very witty dialogue (though I will not forgive them for Cameron, and giving under pressure from the FDA to get rid of House's "habit"). While I don't like formula, I think Seasons 1-2 were able to add a lot of shock value, comedy, and genuine mystery to suspend your disbelief that, yeah, House is "almost, always eventually right" and the patients almost, always get better despite all odds. And the witty dialogue and the amazing acting of HL, LE, RSL can only work for me if all the pieces are in place (writing, medical mystery, character consistency, plot), since the early seasons kept raising my standards from how well they've been able to pull it off.
And the specific episodes you listed are, in my opinion, the best episodes from the latter seasons, but for different reasons (though, "Three Stories", "Euphoria", and "No Reason" still hold a special place in my heart). So, I hope you don't think I was criticizing your response, because I do agree with everything you said; I guess I just needed to vent (it shows what 6 years of fanboyism has done to me
