Veronica Mars is smarter than me. It was my favorite show running at the time, and I even enjoyed Season 3 for the most part--I was actually in the States when the finale aired live, so I managed to watch it before I went to the airport.

It was my introduction to a lot of the actors I love now, or at least the first time I recognized them--Adam Scott (Party Down, Parks and Rec) guested, Ken Marino (Party Down) as Vinnie Van Lowe, Tina Majorino as Mac (okay, I'll always consider her Mac over anything else), and obviously Kristen Bell. Haven't seen Percy Daggs in anything since, but the moment he lands a regular spot I'll at least check out the pilot. (I've suffered through the first season of House of Lies; I can stand a few episodes of other bad series.)

House of Lies was pretty bad. I only made it through the first two episodes.

What makes it horrible is that there is so much potential in both the premise and the people behind it that I am willing to slog through it until it gets GOOD.

It's no accident that this show has stood the test of time. It's very entertaining. Though I don't know if I would have enjoyed the Louie Anderson version.

Upon doing some personal research, I found an Italian/Japanese Lion King knock-off. The name? "Simba the King Lion."

The show is about a young cub (Simba) who's father (who I assume is called Mufasa) is killed by a poacher. He's raised by his mother, who's raising five other siblings and... a f***ing deer. A tiger named Shere Khan (let that sink in) is out to kill the cubs so he can be king of the jungle. His hyena and monkey henchmen set up traps and dangers for Simba every episode.

This actually f***ing exists. Look it up on YouTube. You'll find entire episodes. It's perhaps the most bats*** crazy mash up of The Lion King, The Jungle Book, and Bambi (the deer is Bambi) that you'll ever come across. The worst part? It's from that company that brought you two of those Titanic animated abominations.

It can be, for sure. What I did that helped me enjoy it was this if it helps, I view it as a more filthy, deranged and profane take on the Leverage format but with the corporate con scheme. Don Cheadle & Kristen Bell are fantastic and some of the structure is GREAT. However what muddies it down is the horrible characters and acting performances via Ben Schwartz and Josh Lawson. I want to turn the TV off when it's involving them.

Wow, for a second there I thought you were referring to Kimba, the White Lion. Then I actually found the program you're talking about.

See, that's what I WANT it to be. Leverage just happens to pull it off with more panache and less budget.

Jean-Ralphio is a national treasure; Clyde Whatsisface less so. Seeing as they're variations of the same character, I can only assume context makes all the difference.

Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell are giving strong performances that can't hide the fact that the scripts feel more like really good acting showcases than anything audiences outside of Hollywood would consider "entertaining." I love'em both, they do good work, but in service of an unworthy show.
