    1. It's more of a glamorous party than an awards show.
    2. Everyone's opinions are different. This will be emphasized when Emmys 2013 roll around, as well as Oscars 2013.
    3. Please to not quote the entire list next time, thank you very much.

Homeland deserved their awards~ even though I wanted Bryan Cranston and Breaking Bad to win.
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

who gives a crap. these people are rewarded enough as it is, none of them need further awards.

If those were for season 1 of Homeland, sure. Season 2, no way in hell.

Well, I can't deny the best actor/actress Emmys. Even if the plotting was later-24 levels of crazy, the acting was always sublime ("Q&A", for example, is a fantastic showcase for both of them). It's why I can accept Cheadle clinching the award for House of Lies (you can search this thread for how incredibly disappointed I was with this show; however, I cannot by any stretch fault its acting, particularly by Cheadle--if I found any fault, it's that HoL was considered a "comedy").

30 Rock was on in the breakroom tonight/this morning.

It occurs to me I've never sat down and watched an episode of that show. I'm a terrible person, aren't I?

Honestly, though, it was a while before I recognized it as 30 Rock. For a while I was thinking "Oh, what Alec Baldwin movie is this?" Not until I saw Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey, Jane Krakowski, oh, it's 30 Rock. But that's a show about a show, right? There were no scenes in a television studio. Jane Krakowski had a transvestite boyfriend, Tracy Morgan was wrecking Tina Fey's **** while she tried to learn Spanish, and I'm not exactly sure what Alec Baldwin was doing but it seemed to involve humiliating a man far more effeminate than the transvestite.

    Must See TV?

It's not a show about a show, it's a show about the people behind a show. And, as you can tell, it's a fairly crazy one. I'm pretty sure a good amount of the humor, as seemingly random as is, requires you to have watched a few episodes before getting into the groove.

Jane Krakowski's character's transvestite boyfriend isn't a transvestite, but someone who impersonates her professionally. I don't remember what episode you're watching, however.

Better you watch the first three seasons if you can; it helps ease you into the insanity that is the show. From there the next couple of seasons have shining moments but also some real stinkers, and seasons six and seven (so far) are beyond excellent.

If Hamm and Cranston hadn't just had probably their best acting seasons ever on their respective shows, i'd be less bothered by both of them losing to a show that kinda seems to be a "Flavor of the Month" type of show. Like, remember when everybody thought Dexter was good? Kinda like that.

Also, the fact that Justifed never gets nominated for anything is moronic. The acting on that show is outstanding, Walton Goggins in particular.

Homeland is NOT flavor of the month and insinuating it is reeks of insulting with no basis. Mad Men and Breaking Bad should not win every year, that would be ridiculous and moreso monotonous.
