He'll still be consulting producer, won't he? I've heard several writers quit because of this too, though, so that's not good.

On the other hand, some shows actually get better once the creator takes more of a back seat (Angel comes to mind).

And even if the last season tanks, the last three episodes of season 3 will be a perfect send-off of 'good' Community. Digital Estate Planning was incredibly awesome. I need to watch it again while freeze-framing, so many references and easter eggs in there.

Judging from his latest tumblr post, "Consulting Producer" means pretty much jack-all. He's cleaned out his office and moving on.

And I just got through watching it. It was....satisfying. Probably not objectively great in any sense, but satisfying. If I tried to give a review of it, I'd undoubtedly write a frikkin' book, so I'd just as soon not.

I'll miss the show. I honestly can't think of any other show on right now that I make a point to watch in first-runs.

Man, you ain't kidding. That scene gave me a serious case of the willies.

Dammit, I was ready to swear off Glee for good at the end of the season, and then the last three episodes happened.

    "What Would You Do?"

Cool show (I may have written about it before). I'd hate to get caught in one of their scenarios, though I'm pretty sure I'd have people watching at home /facepalming. Not as bad the old lady they had at the end of Friday's show, geez that was awkward.

The episode took place in Mormonville, Utah (I don't remember the exact town, but the point was it was the heart of Mormon country) and the last scenario on the episode involved a white girl introducing her black boyfriend to her father. The father then goes postal on the girl, telling her "you can't marry a black man."

The last time they ran the scenario, they actually had two older women in the diner where they were filming say they were completely on the father's side. And the way the one woman who did most of the talking sounded so sincere in what she was saying...it was enough to make you sick. They even showed interviews with the actors afterward (something they don't usually do) and they all said they found it hard to stay in character hearing this woman speak up. Frankly I'm surprised she consented to have her face and even her name (though **** if I remember what it was) given on the broadcast. The guy playing the boyfriend had a little chat with the woman after the ruse was revealed, and even shook her hand, but he said in the interview later that he felt very awkward doing it.

The other scenarios on Friday's show were pretty entertaining stuff. I love it when they do a scenario one way, and then make a change to see if that change has any noticeable effect. On this episode, the scenario in question was a girl blatantly shoplifting from a sporting goods store. The first girl doing it was a tomboy sourpuss, and everyone who came in contact with her reported her to the manager. But then they switched it up, to have the shoplifter be a flirtatious beauty queen. One man actually pointed out items that he thought would look good on her, basically encouraging her to steal them! When the host interviewed him later, he said catching thieves and maintaining security was "not [his] problem." Other bystanders did still turn in the beauty queen.

Other scenarios included a woman with visible facial scars and bruises (makeup of course) getting shouted down by her abusive boyfriend, and a son coming out of the closet to his father. While they use gay characters and homophobic villains fairly often on the show, it really worked well this time, because several of the bystanders were able to relate really touching personal stories of how they overcame their own personal homophobia (remember this is in Mormonville, Utah), particularly when they involved a family member. There was one older couple who sided with the father, but come on, they were in their 70s (if not 80s), and this is Mormonville, Utah we're talking about

So yeah, really fun show to watch. Hope it stays on the air :S

GoT was awesome, Mad Men was pretty heartbreaking. If all my network shows are done for the season, at least I got Sunday nights for another couple more weeks.
