Also sorry to double post but there needs to be new show/season talk here. Most shows came back this week as well as a bunch of new ones so what do you all think of the new fall seasons so far?
So far the i've only seen a few new shows:
The New Girl was funny and i enjoyed Zoey Daschnelle's singing. Only complaint i have is that the characters seem too much like the ones from Always Sunny. The stupid one (who is obsessed with the Waitress), the douche bag, and the one who thinks he is super macho. The pilot was good though and most shows get much better after.
Whitney was just sooooooo bad. Seriously its 2011 i think its time to stop filming in front of a "live studio audience" and every joke was the stereotypical female comic bull**** that is just embarrassing for everyone.
Free Agents was okay but like i said before pilots are always the worst episode of most TV shows so i'm sure it will be better. Only problem is the time slot. If they switched it with Whitney it might stand a chance but right now its on at the same time as Modern Family and that show just won almost every emmy so it will be hard to beat.
Up All Night was not funny at all. I think one baby comedy is enough and Raising Hope already proved itself. While i love Maya Rudolf and Will Arnett i don't think this show will last.

I agree that Zooey was good in it, but yeah, the three guys all seemed a little... uninspired. First of all, I couldn't tell the two white guys apart. I hate it enough that networks want to go for good-looking people exclusively, but when it's the same kind of bland good-looking, it saps the show of a lot of character. The show seemed to wander around aimlessly, occasionally swatting at the closest easy joke. I'll pass, but my friend who's pretty much in love with Zooey said he'd let me know if it got better.
And it was the highest rated new comedy on NBC. Natch.(Didn't watch it, since even the promo couldn't find 90 seconds of funny marerial in that pilot.)
Didn't catch it, but that's disappointing. I wasn't super-jazzed on the premise (like you said, there's already Hope), but a good cast. Arnett sadly doesn't seem to have a good track record starring in things. I was kind of hoping he'd replace Steve Carell on The Office, but his character was a little too wishy washy to really root for.
Not that Spader was much better. Too cynical, I fear. The show did as well as it did, in my opinion, because Carell filtered most of the mean-spiritedness out of David Brent to make Michael Scott. Plus, the show's *stale*. It's possible to still be going fairly strong after seven seasons (unlikely, though) but when you have reorganize like that... I dunno. The Office, I think, is past it's expiration date. I like that they're focusing on Andy's development, but I wish they'd done it before the show lost so much steam.
Speaking of being on Season 7 and still going strong... I don't know if the shorter seasons help avoid running the prospect into the ground, but this season of It's Always Sunny has been pretty strong so far. And unflinching. That Jersey Shore episode went to some dark places, even for them, and Christ, I don't think I've ever seen anal sex on TV before. They could stand to scale back that "ironic soundtrack" gag, though. Three times in two episodes is pushing it.
Parks and Recreation is still amazing. Thank God. Not much else to say, but if you're not watching, consider amending this personal flaw of yours.
Also, was it just me or was Community's premiere just weird? I think it'll get back into the pocket, but Gid, what an odd start to the year.
Raising Hope, also a respectable return. There were rumors they were gonna skip ahead to Hope's toddler years, but I'm happy they're doing it in real-time. It's so hard to write for kids without them sounding like writers are putting words in their mouths. By the same token, if I had a complaint, it's that Hope was pretty much scenery until the end. And then, they kind of took the "project all your failed dreams onto your kids and live vicariously through them) angle. Was less a fan of that.
I do still watch How I Met Your Mother, and I thought they set the season up respectably close to how they did in the early years. Also, nice Jimmy Simpson cameo. Barely recognized him. Hilarious reveal at the end, too. I like Nora, though. I think I'd rather castrate myself with a grapefruit spoon than consider myself a "shipper", but gun to head, I'd certainly prefer Barney end up with her.
Oh, and Castle. I find it jarring that this cheesy case-of-the-week cop drama I watched for Nathan Fillion being awesome and an occasional camp laugh turn into such a dark, intense show. Not bad, just jarring. Since we first meet Beckett, though, she's already been revered and worshipped. I like that she's at square one with someone now, shakes the formula up a bit.
Haven't seen Modern Family or Middle yet. It's on the DVR in Woburn, though. Took MF a few months to get into fighting form last season, though, hopefully that won't be the case this year.
(This is probably the longest thing I've ever written on my phone.)

it truly is sad times if that is true. Or maybe people just didn't change the channel after The Office
He seems to only work as a side character. He was so great on Arrested Development and 30 Rock but just can't quite play the lead.
I don't see The Office lasting after this season. (spoiler alert highlight to read) Andy made for a meh boss and i don't like Spader's character
I haven't seen any of this season (i keep forgeting that its on and i (for some reason) keep forgeting to set the DVR) but if its anything like last season then i expect it to be only okay. There really wasn't anything that great last season
I love Parks and Rec i think its going to replace The Office as the funniest show you better be watching
It was on par with the rest of the series. I loved the musical opening.
Wait until you see Modern Family. I thought the episode was good and they always sort of treat Hope like she is scenery. Not much you can do with a baby without it becoming stale
i don't watch Castle or HIMYM
The Middle was good still playing second fiddle to Modern Family but still being just as funny. Poor Sue.
and Modern Family felt like it hasn't come back yet. The kids are usually where the show shines but none of them had very interesting stories. And Lilly is now talking like its no big deal. I am not a fan of new Lilly, i liked it better when she just sat there confused by her surroundings. Cam and Phil were just as great as always though.
