You wont pay $3 for a song but you will pay $15 for maps on Call of Duty? Two of them are just copy and pasted maps form COD4?

they're not the beatles. or metallica. or lynyrd skynyrd. or bang camaro. or seether. or blondie. or even jimi hendrix. i'm sure if they had known they'd go against hendrix, this wouldn't have happened. is it cool to officially declare this DOA in terms of sales? sucks i'll have to wait until they reassess the price for this song, if they do, specially with that if the song bombs it probably wont see release on ps3 and wii, or a possible (and like no one doesnt see it coming) RBN trackpack. i'd have bought it at $2, but at $3 on a week with spanish castle magic, if 6 was 9 and little wing coming a few days later? no, thank you. who came up with that pricing anyways? the LOST smoke monster?

Compared to Blondie and some of those other EMI bands they are.

No, Mayday Parade is not a nobody, but they aren't a $3 a song band.

@DarkPh0enix1: Fearless (the label) chose the price.

    A) I'm pretty sure it's a mistake.

    B) They are more popular than Bang Camaro.

    C) Bands don't suddenly go from "big name" to "nobody"

    D) No song is worth $3 by itself.

value of a map pack is different than value of a RB song. i got over 900 songs, aint no way i play that many songs over and over like MW2 players play multiplayer maps. with that being said, the $15 point for 5 maps seems like value, until you do take notice that they are copy/pasted maps from the previous game. perfect dark gave us 3 maps from goldeneye for free as a thank you. activision probably demanded IW to pack those in to milk the MW addicts out of more cash to pay their lawyers so they can go keep suing people. kinda surprised they aint tried to sue harmonix yet over all the exclusives we keep getting making the music rhythm market uncompetitive and monopolistic (don't they have to give HMX a cut of all Gh profits anyways iirc?)

i know that part, but it's still a mistake. hasn't any label by now figured past their greed to see that unless it's something truly special and unique, it'll get roasted on forums and be thrashed by the same customers they're trying to appeal to? specially when HMX is still putting the premium (full game compatibility with RB1, 2 & 3*) tracks?

*by this i mean that they haven't announced yet if the lack of compatibility with certain modes will also fall with RB3, which more than likely would.

I mean it's a mistake as in they didn't mean to put it at $3.

    Their other songs are $1

That is subjective. I would pay $3 for quite a few hundred songs.

You are paying essentially $3 a map in map packs for Halo and Call of Duty, and I can easily get as much value out of a song as a map. $3 a song isn't too much of an issue for me if it's something I'm interested in.

Lemme give you three stories here i've told round these parts before. I live in kissimmee, fl. couple years ago, HoB, due to being in disney property, cancelled a ton of shows due to "the metal crowd" not being family friendly for downtown disney. shows that got cancelled or moved to different venues included avenged sevenfold, disturbed and static-x with shadows fall. refunds were given out without question by HoB. shadows fall though got sponsored by vans, still came down to festival bay mall, did a show for free at around noon time in the parking lot to anyone who wanted to come and catch them, not just people who got gypped at the cancellation, and had t-shirt giveaways at the skate park afterwards. and this was after the light that blinds got big due to GH2.

heard about the howard jones situation going around recently with killswitch engage? when he got hurt was before the show in HoB here. he still tried to get to the stage, collapsed and was carried out. the band, after a mass delay that ticked off the crowd, came out, apologized for not being able to perform, took out out of their time and money to set up a show before the booked club night the next night, flew in phil labonte from all that remains, and stayed well into 1 or 2 in the morning signing everything and apologizing, taking pics, whatever they could do for the fans. the show the next night was awesome, we got an extended 5 minute solo at the end of holy diver, and the encore was the crowd doing the lyrics to my curse cause phil didn't know them.

about phil labonte and all that remains, they had a show at, guess where? House of blues. They busted drumheads several times during the set and phil, everytime they busted, would stop and actually walk around telling jokes with the crowd. sometime later, when phil blew out his vocal chords and they had to drop out of tour, they gave free shirts to anyone who brought tickets from the in flames show as their way to apologize for the cancellation. they did earthday birthday down here, and i personally saw jeanne, after a woman in front of me got her pick swiped by some a-hole in the crowd, give her another one, signed.

maybe its cause these are boston area bands, maybe its different stuff there in terms of the music scene (saw bang camaro live here do a halloween show with a special version of nightlife commando, and they had a chick in a nurse outfit with a blow-up doll on stage at one point), but as my two free shirts, and my ticket with adam d personally autographing over a costume he wore on a show at a show at HoB in myrtle beach last spring attest, its good will like that that win you fans. i can personally say i will always be a fan of those three bands, see their shows and buy their cds. they've earned it. i know its not the band's fault, but maybe if the labels realized this and stopped trying to undercut said good will by stuff like that, maybe they'd make more money.
