What really throws me for a loop is when I see people here who say they don't even look at the DEMO if they don't know who it is. What? Really? Dude is seriously THAT incurious?
I don't get how someone can live that way. It's like having his taste in food locked down at the age of six, and now he still won't eat anything but white bread, velveeta and tomato soup. AND HE'S THIRTYNINE.

Have fun! There's a serious amount of awesome music here. I'm proud to be one of 'em.

The creator should be able to select the demo window IMO.

It'd be neat if your first play of the song could be the full track, then the short version after that.

Isn't that because timed demos are built into XNA? I know most Indie Games I've played trials of just *end* after a certain amount of time and present a similiar screen to what we see after a song.

That abrupt stop may be a bit annoying at times, but for the most part I don't think there's a way to avoid it.

There's a set of hard rules about how long a demo is (it's either percentage of the song or X amount of time depending on overall length), so keep that in mind.

The creator can select what portion of the song makes up the 30-second Preview that you hear in the Music Store.

But not the demo. That's the first minute (or 35%), set in stone.

This is an important distinction. A smart author or band will choose a preview that really shows off what the song is going to do. Combined with the first minute preview, that should be sufficient to tell most people all they want about the song. If I hear a preview that sounds exactly like the demo music, then I sometimes assume that the song doesn't really "go anywhere" from the demo.

No, there are 60 seconds in a minute.

There are 100 cents in a dollar though.
