With AG Michael Atkinson stepping down this weekend, there may be a ray of hope for all the poor Aussies. That Luddite was the one who kept blocking Australia from joining the rest of video gamer civilization....with him out of the way, Oz can look forward to M-rated games and probably getting the XNA approved for purchases (i.e., RBN purchases) in the near future.

I really don't think Atkinson has anything to do with this one.
It's just Microsoft being lazy. We've been able to purchase XNA memberships and actually create Indie games for some time (since late 2008), but obiously after this long, Microsoft isn't going to bother letting us buy the games.
If there's some songs on the RBN that you really want, it's probably worth your while to just buy some US MS points.
Nope, this one isn't on Atkinson.
It's due to our system that requires ALL games on sale to be rated. It simply wouldn't be cost-effective for the indie games to all be rated before being put up for sale. As such, we can't buy XNA content.
No, the peer-rating system isn't good enough for our classification board.

As much as "all games on sale to be rated" is theoretically correct. The rock band store itself notes that Rockband DLC is not rated by the ESRB.
So, were just getting stuffed around down here
EDIT: I Guess ours is all rated by the OFLC anyway...

Actually they comfirmed the release of XNA to Australia on June 21st.
☐ Weezer - Weezer (The Blue Album) 4/10
☐ The Beatles - The White Album 5/30
☐ Green Day - Kerplunk 0/12
☐ They Might Be Giants - Flood 0/19
Okay now that the Attorney General for South Australia has stepped down we might actually see a release of the XNA down here.
Well one can only hope
It's been over a year and yet we don't have the RBN
