I'd love to give everyone candy corn.
FFXI uses SE servers, it only uses xbox live as a gateway mainly to get over to them. its pretty much a HUGE exception to all rules.
although i will say it runs like crap on 360 compared to ps2/pc(i played on all 3 so i think its fair for me to make that judgement) but at least it plays.
It is also the ONLY game that plays cross console, which no other MMO has even been allowed to do.

Actually, the first waah-ing in this thread occurred on the second page, through potshots about people flying off the handle when not all songs get ported over and entitlement, which were completely irrelevant to the actual discussion in the thread up to that point.
I'll admit that I might be a tad bit biased since I'm a PS3 player myself, but I don't think 'now that the 30 day period listed in the announcement is over, do you think we can expect the first PS3 (and Wii) songs soon?' is in any way a complaint or an expression of entitlement. The OP had a question, and posted it in a polite manner. Sure, it's a question that can't be answered by anyone but HMX, who will likely do so in an announcement rather than a random forum thread, but it still can lead to a civil discussion and certainly doesn't warrant any hostility.
When a poster expresses his feelings through angry rants or demands (Aspiring's post is a good example of that), I can understand negative reactions, and if that is the OP of a thread, it is very likely to get locked.
However, I have to admit I've noticed that some people from the X-box side of the fence are a bit too eager to jump on ANY post by PS3 users who are curious about when they will get their first taste of the RBN awesomeness, and that is something that's just uncalled for.
Even though there are good reasons behind the lack of parity between systems as far as RBN is concerned, it's still quite understandable that PS3 and Wii owners are curious about how the situation will unfold for them, and information has been in short supply. Questions will get asked. And as long as those questions are phrased politely, there's no reason to bash those asking them. And even if you feel like a question has already been addressed, either ignore the thread or point the poster in the right direction. Hostile posts will not improve the atmosphere on this forum one bit.
I'll lock this thread down, because it's spiraled downwards in the last couple of pages, but I hope that civil discussion about the PS3/Wii situation will remain a possibility for future threads. Thanks in advance for all those willing to contribute to that, regardless of what console they own.
