Has RGS ever explained why two tracks from Fleet Foxes were announced and hyped, and now are completely absent from the website? Would it be ok to at least tell us if there is any hope that the tracks will be released at some point?

Jellis, our website has an up-to-date songlist that should have all of the songs that are either currently released or you can expect to be released in the future. If a song does not appear on that list, chances are I, nor anyone else from RGS, cannot comment on it.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

In other words, for one reason or another, the deal fell through.

    Meanwhile, in other news...

Today brings a new release, now officially out in the store! As promised, it's another track from Jonathan Coulton, and it's his first-ever devil-tiered chart on guitar!

Jonathan Coulton "Betty and Me" (160 MSP)

Also, brand new to PS3 this week are the following tracks:

Amberian Dawn "River of Tuoni" ($2)
iwrestledabearonce "Tastes Like Kevin Bacon" ($2)

Be sure to check them out!

That seems like the easy answer, but if it was as simple as that, why couldn't RGS just come out and make some euphamistic statement like, "due to contractual complications, we will no longer be releasing tracks from Band X"? It could be that I just don't understand licensing stipulations, but it really doesn't make sense that an authoring company would be forbidden from commenting on a contract once the other side has backed out?

I guess with FF and Gaslight Anthem, we can hold out hope that HMX has snatched them up and plans to release their tracks as "regular" DLC...

Because it's their choice not to talk about what they're NOT going to do and would rather prefer to talk about what they CAN and WILL do. It's standard PR philosophy.

Just so you know, that list is missing Believing by Bang on a Can All-Stars, and it lists Wytches 2010 as still being in peer review. It may also be missing other things I didn't notice. There are also some other less important areas where it's not quite up-to-date (Amberian Dawn and possibly other songs that I know have hit playtest/peer review still listed as "Announced", and some songs that have preview videos in your youtube channel but not in their song page like Belladonna and Aconite).
