At the moment german RBN songs seem really unlikely. I think only huge bands such as Rammstein have a chance to be released via normal DLC not RBN.

    KMFDM is in the network.

Of course they do both German and English songs, so that's probably why. (meaning we're getting the english only ones so far).

In actual fact... would you really need playtesters for speaking German? Surely you could just find someone (or two) to run the lyrics before playing?

If not then I guess I'll have to start committing to learning German instead of slowly picking up a word or phrase every week. I currently have a playtesters thing for another month or so and would happily pick it up again over the summer now I have no coursework left to do.

Oh noes, as it turns out German isn't a language :/

Unless it's because they haven't got non-standard letters at the moment (hopes for RB3 to change things)

Just wanted to say "non-standard" letters as you call them are not the problem. What would a game called Rock Band be without Umlauts ;-) The Juli and Toten Hosen songs we have in the game feature several ä's, ü's and ö's.

The most probable RBN promotion in Germany will imo be at the gamescom '10 (August 18-22), but I think it'll totally be overshadowed by RB3 & some Guitar Hero titles.

Admit it or don't, but Rock Band & Guitar Hero both don't stand a chance against Singstar & Lips, because most people over here just don't see the point of buying expensive plastic instruments, no matter how much fun they're delivering

Right, but Gamescom is not a music festival like SxSW, I don't think a lot of bands will be there, to notice RBN. The people that are there are gamers. Rock Band 3 will be the big news I think, looking forward to playing it at Gamescom :-)))

I do know that one of the requirements on the reviewing form is : "I Agree to the Terms and I have played through this song in my language."

Now there was a Spanish language song which has passed and gone into the store. I couldn't test it because I only speak English. However it got enough votes to pass(but I'm thinking that might be because Spanish is a more common second language here in the states).

So I don't know if someone that did speak spanish just came in and said yep it makes sense and there is no foul language, or if all the testers did indeed understand spanish.

Didn't the only German music convention "Popkomm" get the shaft?
