I know that there have been many threads regarding bringing specific music into the rock band network and would like to state that i realize this isn't a network based on requests.

I'm sure that many of you are familiar with the computer/wiiware game World of Goo created by 2D Boy, and am interested in contacting the development company asking if they are interested in bringing a few songs from their (imo) amazing soundtrack to the game.

Before I do this I was wondering if anybody could warn me of any legal issues as the music is already associated with their game... but as they are an independent developer I believe that they have rights to the music.

I don't think that this has been mentioned before and if so I apologize.
Some of the songs that i would be interested in are "Regurgitation Pumping Station" and "Best of Times" which are linked respectively.

"Regurgitation Pumping Station" seems like it would work very easily as it has clear parts for every instrument

"Best of Times" would be a little harder to figure what to chart but I would really enjoy playing it in the game (especially the drums)

Essentially any band that owns complete rights to a song can release it on the RBN. Doesn't matter if it's a cover or anything, as long as they can prove they hold the sole right to the song. The only reason covers are said to be unallowed is because the band wouldn't own full rights.
