3 of those 5 songs are in my personal top 5 released on RBN so far, so I'm pretty happy.
Days Without better transfer or else I will club a monkey.

5 songs a week is a very respectable amount, with the rate they are being released, eventually the PS3 will have access to a good quantity of the songs available on the 360. Thanks HMX!

You like Coheed and Cambria, yet the RBN track from Children of Nova doesn't interest you?
"The Complexity Of Light" kicks ass.
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?
Awesome job HMX! Solid mix of songs for the initial release.

Exactly, as they are restricted to only five songs a week at the moment it would be nice to see even just one song a week picked on the basis its gots such great feedback from the hundred/thousands who have played it so far.
Take the first five songs PS3 is getting, all great songs and all from great artists but you could hardly say any of them are small bands needing the exposure. Im seeing request already from all the expected names ie Drowning Pool, Lacuna Coil, All That Remains etc but if its based purely on sales in regards to tracking popularity then this really will be nothing more for the PS3 than RB Music Store #2 with all the smaller bands self authored etc music having no hope of a look especially with only five songs getting picked a week and everyone from Billy Idol to Evanescence, from Finger Eleven to Wheatus still to even come out yet.
Hoping for more british music on RB Blitz
Most Wanted DLC: Meat Loaf (Bat out of Hell), Barenaked Ladies
I hear what you're saying about giving smaller bands a chance too. In many ways I totally agree (since my band is one of those self-published DIY bands in RBN! I am both "the man" and "the little guy"! GULLIVERS TRAVELS COMPLEX!)
We're trying to work in these fan favorites and cool stories as we choose what stuff to take stuff over to PS3. To kick things off, you'll probably notice that a good handful of "name" acts will be coming over, but all of these bands are awesome for helping us build the network and being early adopters of this new set of tools. So let's not discount them as being less than great just cause you know their names
If people are rallying behind a smaller act and we can sense the demand for it, we'll try to juggle the pile for PS3! To reiterate: there are long submission times for this content, so you demanding a track on Wednesday doesn't mean we can put it out thursday...it'll still take a few weeks. But let us know and we'll keep adjusting our approach!
A quick aside: for every 3 people I hear saying "give the little guys a chance" we have 500 jerks on facebook screaming about how they've never heard of Steve Vai and these 5 "no name bands" are a waste of time...so you know, it's a rational balancing act pleasing these disparate and totally reasonable communities
I'm glad to be posting more actively on the forums. You guys are wicked civil and I'm glad (most of) you can see this as a positive step forward! keep the feedback coming!
Love,
