you guys aren't practicing for nothing...I drive 4 hours one way to compete. I consistently put up 99% on any song they pick to compete with. I must admit...singing is easier to max then hitting 1500+ notes perfectly. I grind and grind and grind on my band to practice...yet they seem to do worse with each passing week. You guys just keep at it and it will pay off. I am shocked that score is still on top. 1.9 is an embarrassment on cherub rock.
Still wish I was an expert drummer instead of singer...
Was at the DC competition last night. Only two bands showed (including mine). It looked like they had all the competition songs, but they didn't have RB1 transfered to RB2, so our performance of Highway Star suffered from the difference in vocal engines. My hope was that no one would show and we'd win by default, so when the other band walked in, I pretty much said "**** it" and had fun. At the end of our performance I jumped from the stage, on the last note... Too bad I was on a WIRED P-bass controller... Wireless has spoiled me so much.
The other band were playing a DLC song, and we spent at least half an hour trying to get the damn thing to load. I still don't know what the problem was (the manager said he had used that harddrive and xbox to download, so I don't think it was a DRM issue) but eventually the manager took the box upstairs and redownload the song and we could finally end this thing.
The other band went up and did their thing (Sex Machine) and did very well, better than any of my band's practice runs, so I didn't feel bad that we sucked anyway. However, the other band has very poor presentation, just the mindless standing up there playing mentality. And the singer decided to turn the mic volume up! Yeah listening to a poor digitized version of a white guy singing James Brown... [/sarcasm]
After that my band went up to play Carry On My Wayward Son to kill a little time before we left. This time I used a wireless GH4 controller so I was able to get down from the stage and play from the projected image they had on the wall. Ended the song with a power slide which skinned my knee and ripped my pants. So worth it. I had lots of fun.

Kitler -Glad to hear you had a good time. It looks like some of the venues are offering consolation prizes to those who don't get 1st place, so at the very least, you have an incentive for attending (other than getting to rock out, of course!)

Just a comment, because if they go to the finals, style is a rather large factor of judging and skill is only 1/3 of it. But yeah, right now it's just pure points.
Yeah, I showed with a slight hope of a consolation prize, but this was too small for that. As I said, only two bands showed. However, I did win something from the TRTR twitter page, so I'm stoked about that.Originally Posted by Erik

Shame Canada doesn't get to host this stuff. If this came to Ontario I'd sign up but not much to do other than pout and then try to work on my vocals.
This competition has a sweet shirt.

Not as good as $10,000, but I'll take it!
