Actually, the real flaw in the analogy is that RBN is not a charity even in the loosest sense of the word; people are selling the songs and making money, and having to pay just to playtest seems nothing short of backwards (I eventually caved in, but I don't know if I'm going to renew it when it expires).
Well yeah, that too. If people want their cake and the ability to eat it, go to a bakery and buy one. The sense of entitlement is free. Fulfilling it is not.
