But why stop releasing them completely? Surely that can't be a technical limitation.

There are so many good songs that are not ported over. The rest of CHildren of Nova, Poets of the Fall, Free Spirit, Glass Hammer, Devin's ZTO... I hope some of these songs are ported before it all ends.

    *Sigh*

It would be awfully confusing to release 1.0 and 2.0 songs at the same time since RB2 players on PS3 wouldn't be able to play 2.0 songs, even if Sony permitted Harmonix to submit three different sets of songs each week (which I assume they wouldn't).

That said, it's a shame so many great RBN tracks y'all worked so hard on won't move over to the PS3.
Waiting for Depeche Mode, Patti Smith, Pavement, Public Enemy & more Rolling Stones. I have 2,000+ songs!

Well, these aren't good news obiouvsly, but If we won't have all the Children Of Nova songs I will start an uber rage in this forum, and I strongly believe that many people will follow me.

What does this mean for the PS3?

When RBN 2.0 goes live, will there continue to be be a lag of at least a month between songs debuting on the 360 and the eventual arrival (of a tiny handful) on the PS3? If there will continue to be a delay -- and only a few additional weeks of RBN 1.0 content are planned -- does that mean there'll be a span of at least a few weeks with no RBN at all on the PS3?

If so, that's disappointing. There are a few songs I've really been chomping at the bit to play, and the chances of my picks making the cut seem pretty slim.

I guess that we deserve AT LEAST 7 other weeks of RBN 1.0.. since it will take about 3 more weeks for RBN 2.0 songs to come out in the Xbox store, and since they have a 30 days excusive, we can still have some good remaining stuff from RBN 1.0... or am I wrong?

It has been said a thousand times already, but Microsoft have an framework in place which allows people to submit and peer review independent content. Harmonix were able to use this platform to develop RBN, which means Microsoft gets exclusivity for 30 days. Sony have no comparable platform to XNA, so they lose out, not to mention the hard limit of 5 songs a week is imposed by Sony, not Harmonix.

Seriously, learn the damn basis of RBN if you're gonna post here. It wouldn't be able to exist without MS's XNA which, as stated above, PSN has no equivalent of.
8/9/11 (Def Leppard) will be marked as the best day in RB history for me. HMX, major thanks for all this amazing DLC you put out!

RBN songs will continue to be ported to the PS3 without interruption, 5/week. We'll add RBN2 songs as soon as we can; when some are approved :-) and the 30 day exclusive has expired. It may be the case that for a little while we mix and match popular RBN1 songs and RBN2 songs to migrate, we'll just wait and see what is popular, resonating with the community, and helps maintain a balance of genres in the store.

We have a few weeks left of releasing RBN songs to both RB2 and RB3. Following that, just like regular DLC and RBN2 for 360, PS3 songs will be released on RB3 only.

...so there will NOT be new RBN1 songs for PS3 after RBN2 really catches on? I'm still a little confused
