Local Natives - Gorilla Manor 8.5/10
Wow, only gave this 1 listen, and it was months ago. Totally forgot how much I liked it. Great indie pop-ish album.

Bad Brains - Bad Brains: 4.5/5
Who would have ever guessed hardcore punk and reggae could work so well together...

Under The Influence

I'm Batman.
James Foxx & the Maths - Interplay (8.25/10)
Synthpop without coating itself in glitter. Sounds intentionally messy with production, but it strangely seems to work with this kind of bleek style that sometimes borderlines on darkwave. It plays around with noise elements on its first track, and vocals are at its most gritty on its second.
Been on a slight punk kick lately.
Husker Du - New Day Rising 9.5/10
Think I might actually prefer this to Zen Arcade. Hardcore punk at its finest.
The Clash - The Clash (US Version) 9.5/10
Another masterpiece of punk. Diverse, yet focused. Somewhat more "punk" than London Calling, but extends to different lyrical themes than that album.
Buzz****s - Singles Going Steady 8.5/10
First time listen. Good stuff, could easily be counted up with many top punk albums. Not a lot of songs struck me as being "spectacular" upon first listen, but subsequent listens may prove it to be moreso.
Descendents - Milo Goes To College 7.5/10
Perhaps I'm not totally getting what everyone raves about, but nothing really grabbed me right away. Again, only a first impression, but it only came across as good, not much more.

Reel Big Fish- Monkeys for Nothin' and the Chimps for Free
Love this album. RBF shows off their varied style and fills it with infectious riffs and catchy lyrics.
Verdict- 9/10
Lupe Fiasco- LASERS
You can definitely hear the record company's massive influence on the album and there's some very substandard production, but once you get past that, it's actually not a bad listen.
Verdict- 7/10
