The 2nd Law - Muse 8/10

It's not their best work, by far. But it's their most varied piece to date. Listening to it from start to finish was... an interesting journey to say the least, and while some of there ventures into electronica and dubstep left a bitter taste (It took seeing unsustainable live to actually enjoy the song), others were very enjoyable. Follow me, in particular, was actually quite beautiful... once you get past the wub wub wubs.

Having chris sing lead vocals should have been done sooner. It's these songs that are some of the strongest singles on the album. If anything, the one thing I took away from the experience, was that the drumming wasn't as good as it could have been. Most of the drum beats were too similar and repetitive, and after a while, made the songs merge into one electronic mess. Luckily, a few of the songs strayed away from this repetitiveness.

Overall, its a varied experience that will grind with some, and please the others, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
