    Opus Dei - Laibach (9/10)

All the composure, the militaristic wrath, and even a sense of satirical humor is all there.

As my 3rd Laibach album, it's definitely their most solid I've come across. This partial cover song album pulls Queen and Opus to the center table, while I don't know much about Opus, their cover of Queen's "One Vision", as a neo-classical industrial group, was to my surprise, executed quite well, even rivaling that of the original. Bonus tracks consist of abstract martial industrial mixes, which takes some time to get used to compared to the album itself, is interesting to learn about.

    The Velvet Underground & Nico

    With this, it's time for a mini-rant.

I have probably listened to this album a good 5 times now, and with every time I listen to this album, I struggle to stay with it, and I'm not finding it interesting enough, and I get distracted by something else.

For now on, I'm adopting a one-listen, one-verdict policy. I'm tired of wasting multiple runs on an album that's supposedly universally praised for some reason when no matter how many times I go through it, I see nothing to work with. I really do want to like this album, but I can't. I need to move on to other albums, other albums that at least I can enjoy and aren't a waste of my time. Maybe if I saw something in the album that might intrigue me, than a second listen might be enrolled in the future.

And I'm deciding to stay in my safe-zone more, listen to bands/artists from genres I'm well used to or can relate to my favorite artists. I think I blew enough money on duds.

    With that said:

    Zeni Geva - Nai-Ha
    7/10

I'm thinking if I re-listened to it at a later time, I'd rate it higher, just it's not clicking with me for some reason right now. I can tell there's some cool stuff in there, but the sound just grates on me at the moment.

Pheh. What are you basing this on? At least recognize its significance in rock music, and its effect for decades after its release.

The problem is I don't. Unlike most people here, I don't rate in the third-person, nor do I ever, that's what the entire rant was about. Did you not read it?
