It's a very interesting one, sure, but not too memorable at all and more grating than anything. At least it's brief. If it ran for too much longer, I would have probably gave it an even lower score.

Whether for driving or chilling in the afternoon, this group, and this album in particular makes moods chill.

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (2008)
    7.5/10

Don't normally listen to electronic albums so the second half of the album I wasn't really paying attention all that much (which is kinda funny, because I can focus throughout whole, very dense, prog albums and whatnot without a problem, haha).
Other than that, it was a good listen. Some fun songs in there, and I appreciated the chiptune sounds and whatnot.
    Overall, decent release.

Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (2010)
    8/10

First time I tried to listen to this album (about half a year ago) I was put off by the noise aspects of it (which is weird, because I like Merzbow's brand of harsh noise). Revisiting it however, good album. Like the icier feel of the album compared to the first album. Not hearing as much chiptune (if any) influence either.
    Anyways, good album.

In all honesty, it partially sucks to listen to outside of the game because there isn't a lot of meat on its bones, but it is great ambience and the drummer's a legend.

EDIT: I changed my mind. Most of the songs on here are at least good, most if them are neato ambience and create a chilled atmosphere, but the songs that occur in the fighting stages go on for 6-7 minutes, and here's an approximation of what goes on over the second half: nothing. My God, I felt time itself seep away listening to those.

You also have small 20 second filler pieces but it just means it's an ultra complete album. The piano skills are great, the drums are top tier, the credits song has a beautiful soul vocal line. Is it one of the better VG soundtracks this year? We'll see.

Grand Magus - Hammer of the North

After listening to this about 4 times, I can give this a good 8/10.

Atlantean Kodex - The Golden Bough

Not sure if doom metal is just not my thing, but I'm going to give this one a 7.5.
