like myself.......even their weaker albums like NYC Ghosts & Flowers and EVOL (though many will contest this) were either inconsistent or consistently passable. Dirty just sucks and is flat-out awful, with the exception of "Sugar Kane". On that album, they sounded like a bad parody of Sonic Youth rather than the real thing, out of touch and completely in love with themselves

i really need to give Dirty another listen soon. but i too think that NYC Ghosts & Flowers is an alright album, i mean i'd probably give it a 6.0/10 or something, it's not as bad as everyone else makes it out to be IMO. and EVOL is really good, you're crazy! EVOL = Sister in my book

DN > EJT&NS > EVOL = Sister > the rest (need to listen to more to properly rank them)

Side 1 of EVOL is amazing and deserving of the album's reputation, but side 2 just really brings it down, endless stretches of boring guitar buzzing that sounds a lot like the stuff on Bad Moon Rising but lacking that dark mood that is so crucial to that album. I do like the piano part in "Secret Girl" and the first few minutes of "Expressway" though

Confusion is Sex is my personal favorite

Dirty is good if you're into alt-rock and can forgive Sonic Youth for being "accessible".

Possibly. I'm starting with the most universally praised ones because I got a super awesome Goo T-Shirt as a gift and realized I hadn't listened to it.

And yes, I do enjoy doing discography listens lately. I don't know why. Next one will probably be Flaming Lips or The Replacements.

Yep. They're all really good. None are perfect save Daydream Nation. I don't do decimals 'cause I find it to be really arbitrary. 88 on Metacritic vs. 89 on Metacritic. You tell me why the latter is so INFINITELY BETTER OMG. It just makes it simpler.

So, to recap my SY (more for my own reference and completeness than anyone else's sake)

    Sister - 9/10
    Daydream Nation - 10/10
    Goo - 9/10
    Dirty - 9/10
Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star - 9/10
    Washing Machine - 9/10

The next two I'll listen to are EVOL and Confusion Is Sex. Then I'm open for recommendations.

Hey no, that album had the four-neck guitar on it.
Y'all remind me of my grandsons but they like Ice Cube movies so I can't never speak to them again. Excuse me, I'ma get me some Kool-aid.
