I just found something out: apparently in 2003 Celine Dion wanted to use the name "Muse" for one of her US tour. Muse, who had the worldwide rights to the name, said no, because they hadn't been "discovered" in the US yet, and when they went over there they didn't want to be thought of as a Celine Dion backing band. So they threatened her with a lawsuit and basically kicked her ass.
I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't want to have anything to do with Celine Dion, much less share a name with her.
There have been a fair amount of up-and-coming bands called Muse that had to change thier names, as well as tour stuff like this. At least before they "Broke America".
The Rocket Baby Dolls have really come a long way. If you say Muse now, everyone knows who you are talking about (or should anyway).
