I've heard Soundgarden. I've heard No Doubt.

Anyone want to take bets a Muse rumor will spring up between now and 10:00 a.m. EST?
May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?

Nearly all of Muse's songs have all the parts in them that Rock Band requires. Just because they might not be uber-difficult doesn't mean they wouldn't translate well into Rock Band.
No seriously dude, check out someone playing Uprising bass. It'd probably be something like Green sustain to quick yellow... and repeat. There's also an absence of guitar for quite a while in the song... my point is Uprising is one of the worst choices for DLC, no matter how good the song is.

But how would Starlight be fun? It's one of the most boring drum tracks, and the guitar and bass are virtually non-existent. It's a keyboard/vocals song if anything.

And you missed my point judging by the last part of the quote. Songs don't have to be difficult to be a good choice, they just need variation in the music so they're not boring to play. Think why Hysteria was chosen.

So, would you exclude "New Born" because the guitar doesn't come in for over a minute?

There is guitar in "Starlight". It comes in about a minute into the song, and there is a lot of bass throughout.

Also, it takes about 2 minutes for the guitar to come in on "Uprising" (which is the same amount of time it takes for the drums to come in on The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes").

My point, is that just because a song doesn't have something for x amount of time or is sparse on a particular instrument doesn't mean it is "unworthy".

Actually bass in Uprising would be a bit more difficult than you would think, this chap pretty much nailed it for the most part here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS6jyKIMQkE

lol, that is exactly why it would suck on bass. Can you imagine how boring that would be? Most repetitive thing ever. And that guy charted the drums totally incorrectly.

And about New Born... that's different. That's a fundamental Muse song that has plenty of variation once everything kicks in, plus a mean tapping solo. Uprising is hardly on the same level.

It's not Muse DLC, but the remainder of Tragic Kingdom is great!

Hi guys, the forums have been giving me a hard time signing in, but now I'm back! At least until it locks me out again :ş

My opinion on if a song is fit for RB or not is that the "it's Muse" awesomeness would outweigh anything.

New Born is a great song but I would be hard pressed to say that any of their songs are fundamental to the whole. Their sound is all over the map. I could argue that Uprising is just as much a Muse song as New Born.

I can have just as much fun with the simpler charts in the game as the more complex ones. While Uprising may not put your plastic guitar skills to the test I don't think you could say that your band wouldn't be nodding, grooving, and bouncing along while they're playing. I know I wouldn't just be standing there still, tapping along with the bass. The song is freaking infectious.

I agree. So what if some of the songs won't be as difficult? Isn't Muse one of the most requested bands on RB2?? Give the people what they want for goodness sake!?!? Why more No Doubt? I love them... but I love Muse more.

Uprising and Starlight are great singles that people know for parties and RB nights with friends. It's not always about difficulty. Some songs are just fun to play because of the song itself.

I absolutely love to play Dig by Incubus because it's a good song even though it isn't epic to play.

What I would tell you is to simply not buy Uprising, but I'm telling you it would sell like crazy.
    Need DLC by:
    [ ] more Muse
    [ ] Incubus
    [x] more Children of Nova
    [ ] Before Their Eyes
[ ] more There For Tomorrow
