Well, the demand is huge, Harmonix must surely see the $ or £ signs in their eyes, if they charged 400msp per song i'd still buy them.
Add MUSE into Rock Band!!!!

May 20th, 2012: 4 long years since HMX released "Hysteria" by Muse. The wait for more Muse DLC has to end at some point, right?
As we know, the question of Muse DLC has caused many an argument. There are those who have overly reqested the band and many have found this annoying, but are these supposed "over-posters" as stupid and irritating as many people see them?
Rock Band was first released in North America, November 2007. "Hysteria" followed shortly and people have been begging for more Muse ever since. It has now been over four years and there's no more Muse DLC to be found. I have a firm belief that Muse is one of the most requested bands ever on Rock Band, so why there is only one song to be found here is a mystery to me.
Harmonix has stated that their awareness of the Muse requests with something like "OK, we get it. You like Muse". Let's face it: leaving it with that is like pouring salt into a wound. Sure others have said that Harmonix is doing what they can to add more Muse, but that was quite a time ago and it makes one wonder what in oblivion is taking them so long.
My question is this: does anyone have a clue as to why Harmonix is ignoring all the Muse requests? I can find no logical explanation (unless Muse themselves reject, which I doubt) and it's burning me up! Why must we, the Musers, be denied what so many others have been permitted? It seems nearly everyone who wants more Muse in Rock Band is seen unreasonable trolls, but in my eyes, Harmonix are the trolls for acting like they do. I am not going to blast anyone. That wouldn't solve anything. I just want some answers.
If you think I am being rash and unreasonable, give me some sense, and know this: Should Harmonix add More Muse to Rock Band, I would be eternally grateful.
My guess would be Muse are asking for more than HMX hopes to spend on them thinking they would not make a killing with the dlc...
Honestly, I think it might just be a difficulty in licensing the master tracks to use the stems. I would guess that HMX would have to go through both Warner Music Group for the U.S. rights and through the respective labels for the U.K./Europe rights.
I don't know how Neversoft managed to get 8 Muse songs across 4 Guitar Hero games, but I would assume having Activision's bankroll helped a lot. We can't use Rocksmith as an example here because they don't need the stems to use the songs in that game.
Also, as GNF loves to constantly point out, "Hysteria" was released in May 2008, before Muse became known as "The Twilight Band" (*vomits*) later that year. Add to that a Grammy award for The Resistance, and the cost of licensing goes up significantly.
hmxhenry has said in the past, on the forums and in the podcasts, that HMX tries to find a balance between what the forum community wants as DLC and what the larger community wants as DLC. Now, they know Muse is highly requested here, but with the new Facebook App, Muse has been the steady #1 since HMX launched it. I think Muse songs are the only things that could satisfy both the forums and the larger community.
