So the other song was Koyaanisqatsi! That's been driving me nuts for days! I knew what it was, but I couldn't remember the name...thanks!

Why simulate being drunk when you can do it for real! There are very few things that are more fun than drunken RB!
    Choke in this atmosphere

I was poking fun at the wobbly vocal arrow problem.

Following a slow news week, I thought some of you might like to see this. From the people who are bringing you the Unofficial DVD of Muse's RAH performance, here is a trailer for Muse: The Movie
    from Muselive

if not then thats just a load of Floccinaucinihilipilifications

I love your setlist, even though I am not a huge fan of Muse, but it would be awesome.
    Bass player... yeah that's all.

    okay heres the dealio
i love muse but they are like my 3rd favorite band behind
    The Shins and Radiohead

probably the most mainstream them and Radiohead but then still not that much

i'm noticing that other people who enjoy music that i think is terrible (i.e. Mettallica, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, SOAD, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Pantera, Coheed & Cambria, Megadeath, Dream Theater, Most Metal)(i like indie music) also like muse, well i don't know if i understand, maybe Muse is very accessible for these people or what but it makes me question what kind of fan of them i am.

Just My Opinion but i was wondering if anyone likes these bands and that type of music. well... they do want to be successful and if those people in that fan base area like them so be it, if i could make that kind of music and have fans like the above mentioned fans and be famous, i would.

maybe its just the Indie fan in me speaking out about Muse becoming popular, but then again Muse never considered themselves Indie...

I'm just babbling... ignore and don't respond if you agree with the above paragraph.

I just don't see how someone can like those bands and that type of music and also like Muse... OR if how can someone can like indie music such as myself and like Muse. Maybe i'm the one that people can be surprised that I like Muse. aha!!

P.S. I Believe that those bands are terrible its my opinion ( i cannot stress that enough and i am not just flaming)

I'll stand right behind you on most of that.

My favorite few bands right now: Muse, Placebo, Radiohead, Bloc Party.

Consequently, I prefer songs like Invincible, Sunburn, and Butterflies and Hurricanes to songs like Stockholm Syndrome.

I'm a fan of a few of the bands you listed (not as much as Muse though) and I'd have to say from personal experience that Muse probably appeals to indie fans more. They do have elements of alternative/indie, prog, classical, and metal, which is probably why they have such a large and varying fanbase.

I try not to list myself as anything more broad than just a 'music' fan. I like too much wildly different music to consider myself exclusively a prog or indie or metal fan. I like New Born because it has a lot of variation, from a vaguely classical opening section to the punch of the riff and chorus to the amazing tapping solo. Likewise with Butterflies and Hurricanes.
Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

Of the bands you listed: Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands, Coheed & Cambria has several songs I like a lot, as does Megadeth, SOAD, Disturbed, and Metallica. I really like playing Avenged Sevenfold in Rock Band, and when I was younger I liked Linkin Park. The only band from that list I don't like at least some of the songs of is Pantera.

    My favorite bands include:
    Muse
    Dream Theater
    Within Temptation
    NIN
    Ayreon
    Leaves' Eyes
    The Smashing Pumpkins
    Garbage
    Gorillaz
    Audioslave
    Tom Waits
    and Radiohead

My favorite Muse song is probably Thoughts of a Dying Atheist. I like songs with a strong bass line and a strong drummer or at least a catchy beat, and I like songs that have a different feeling, and I like artists that produce multiple songs that have different feelings. One of my favorite Muse albums is Black Holes and Revelations, because although it is harder to listen to straight through, I like how almost every song has a very distinctive feeling.

Whether a band is "indie" or not makes no difference to me whatsoever, in fact it might actually make me want to buy a band's music less. I like bands with strong authors and a strong artistic direction. But the bottom line is always the music, how it sounds, and its ability to elicit emotion.

    i'll respond:
i always see people posting under their post where you can make it say something (I still can't do this or display a photo)
it'll say Wanted DLC - A7X, Guns and roses, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath along with Muse
and i'm thinking "WTF!! how can muse even be associated with those bands, how can someone like both muse and guns & roses?!?!"

maybe i just never realized the large fanbase that Muse has... that's probably just it
